MA Dept. of Housing and Community Development Homeownership Opportunities – The Homeownership Opportunity Program (HOP) was created in 1986 to stimulate the development of mixed-income single family or condominium projects sponsored by community housing partnerships and developers.The program is no longer active for constructing units, however units regularly become available for resale to qualified buyers.

Allston Brighton CDC has developed 379 units which are now managed by Maloney Properties.

Community Housing Merrimack valley! – Community Housing Inc. (CHI) is a non profit organization specializing in sales of affordable homes. Many of these homes are sold before they are ever advertised on any real estate listing service.

FHA approved Condominiums – The Condominiums page allows users to search for FHA-approved condominium projects by location, name, or status. These properties are not for sale by the FHA

MA affordable lottery list – Massaffordablehomes.org is the state’s most complete listing of affordable home lotteries. Published as a community service by the non-profit Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA), the site is designed to help low- to moderate-income homebuyers find a home they can afford, and educate them about the lottery and home buying process.

COHOUSING in MA – Cohousing is a type of collaborative housing in which residents actively participate in the design and operation of their own neighborhoods. Residents consciously committ themselves to living as a community. Private homes contain all the features of conventional homes, but residents also have access to common facilities such as open space, courtyards, a playground and a common house, where they regularly gather and spend time together.

Boston 1st Home Program – The 1st Home Program provides home purchase opportunities for first-time homebuyers in the Boston area. The available homes are a new, rehabilitated or resale single or two-family homes or condominium.

Cash to Fix sales Boston – The Cash-to-Fix SALES program offers homebuyers the opportunity to purchase a City-acquired, 1- to 3-family foreclosed home at an affordable price for which they can also receive financial and technical rehab assistance from the Boston Home Center to cover needed renovations before they move in.
