Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission – The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) assists individuals with disabilities to live independently and go to work. The agency serves individuals with all types of disabilities except those who are blind. Individuals with visual disabilities are served through the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind. This site offers very comprehensive information for disabled consumers, with resources that range from basic needs such as housing and food, to education and training information.

Massachusetts Commission for the Blind – The Massachusetts Commission for the Blind is a state agency, established in 1906, to provide a wide range of social and rehabilitation services to legally blind Massachusetts residents of all ages. Agency services may address a number of varied needs of individual blind persons, including vocational rehabilitation assistance to gain or regain employment; assistive technology to enhance individual performance; orientation and mobility services for independent travel; medical assistance services; rehabilitation teaching to better prepare people to manage activities of daily living; specialized services to children or elders who are blind.

Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities – The Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities is a Coalition of national consumer, advocacy, provider and professional organizations headquartered in Washington, D.C. Since 1973, the CCD has advocated on behalf of people of all ages with physical and mental disabilities and their families. CCD has worked to achieve federal legislation and regulations that assure that the 54 million children and adults with disabilities are fully integrated into the mainstream of society.

Mass Relay Service – Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened, or speech disabled may access any of the Department of Mental Health’s offices via the Massachusetts Relay Service (MassRelay). MassRelay is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, enabling hearing people or people who do not use a text telephone (TTY) to communicate over regular telephone lines with people who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened, or speech disabled.

Mass Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) – The Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) serves as the principal agency in the state on behalf of deaf, late deafened, and hard of hearing people. MCDHH has four regional offices and provide a broad range of services including case management, skill training, a statewide interpreter referral service and referrals for Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART).

ARC of Massachusetts – The Mission of The Arc of Massachusetts is to enhance the lives of individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities and their families. They accomplish this through advocacy of supports and services based in the community. Locate your local/regional ARC Chapter.

Center for living and working in Worcester – Center for Living & Working, Inc. helps people with disabilities learn to live more independently. Independent Living Specialists provide one-to-one services to individuals in their homes throughout Central Massachusetts. These services include intake/assessment, peer counseling, advocacy, independent living skills training, emergency intervention, and information and referral.

Cape Abilities – Cape Abilitiess serves individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod with educational,counseling & housing programs. They also offer residential, therapeutic, social and employment support.
