This program is designed to promote compliance with Fair Housing Act’s design and construction requirements. It is meant to provide resources, technical guidance and support for the building and building design industry. This information helps property owners,developers, architects and others engage in proper non discriminating practices against people with disabilities when during and before construction of new or retrofit housing.
Every American has a right to fair housing. The right to live where you choose, to raise a family, to own a home--in dignity and without fear of discrimination--is a fundamental right guaranteed to all. It cannot be denied to anyone because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap.
