Besides temporary housing the Pine street Inn also offers permanent SRO housing throughout the greater Boston area. This is based on the lodging house model, whereby the tenants have private bedrooms but are also able to become part of a community through shared cooking dining and living space. This daytime program by "Heading Home" offers women a safe haven, nutritious meals, clothing, counseling, skills development, referrals and a community of support to homeless women.Women's Drop-In serves almost 2,500 meals per year and has empowered many women to make positive changes in their lives.
